Arseniy did not hold back his surprise and admiration:
"What the ***, NO WAY??? I went to bed early to prepare for commentary, and this old-timer made it to FISSURE PLAYGROUND! I haven't seen Bignum in years, and he hasn’t been on a LAN in about ten years, if not longer!"
Indeed, Danil "Bignum" Shekhovtsov, a veteran of the esports scene, has been away from major tournaments for a long time. His success in the qualifiers has become a sensation among fans and analysts alike.
Tournament Context
FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025 will take place from 24 January to 2 February in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. The tournament boasts a prize pool of $1 million, which will be distributed among 16 teams, including 11 invited squads and five qualifier winners.
Bignum isn't the only seasoned veteran participating in the event. The Western European qualifiers also featured LeBronDota, another iconic figure from the Dota pro scene. This tournament is quickly becoming a stage that attracts legendary veterans back into the spotlight.
