Bkop plans to not get a haircut until China wins TI

Dota 2 commentator Benjamin ‘Bkop’ Kopilov shared his thoughts on the current state of the Chinese professional scene. The caster expressed a desire to see Asian players achieve victory once again, and revealed that he had started a personal challenge related to this hope. Kopilov shared his insights during an interview with Dota2.ru.

When asked to describe the current state of the Chinese Dota scene, Kopilov acknowledged that the situation was dire. He noted that although teams such as Azure Ray, Xtreme Gaming, and Yakult’s Brothers were still active, Azure Ray and Xtreme Gaming, if he was not mistaken, shared the same owner. He added that LGD Gaming’s plans remained unclear, as there had been no announcement on whether the organisation intended to stay in the Dota 2 scene. Kopilov highlighted that teams such as Vici Gaming, EHOME, and Team Aster had exited the scene, leaving only a few strong teams in China. As a fan of the region, he expressed his wish to see them succeed. He also mentioned that he would not cut his hair until a Chinese team won The International, admitting that, at present, this goal seemed unrealistic, which he found quite harsh.

It was previously reported that Dota 2 did not make it into the top ten most popular games in Chinese internet cafés. Leading the list was Valve's main MOBA competitor, League of Legends, followed by another Riot Games title, Valorant, in second place, and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT in third.
