Cloud9 coach explains his departure from nouns in 2023

Filipe "Astini" Astini, coach of Cloud9, explained his decision to leave nouns last year.

He was satisfied with his results at nouns but felt that, despite trying to work with the new roster this season and believing they could achieve good results, he could not agree on terms for the following year. Astini disagreed with the organisation's view on the role of a coach, particularly the idea that a coach's value is defined by the amount of content they produce. This disagreement, especially with ppd’s perspective, led him to leave.

After his departure, Astini formed his team in South America to continue competing, believing it would be difficult to find a new team mid-season. Later, he was contacted by Entity, now Cloud9, thanks to a recommendation from JerAx, whose life-focused course Astini had previously declined due to his project. Feeling that he wasn't making the progress he wanted, he decided to join Entity.

Astini also previously explained his team's disappointing performance at the Riyadh Masters 2024, where they finished 9-12.
