Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov from Team Spirit shared his thoughts on the future of Virtus.pro's Dota 2 roster. He suggested that the team's performance at the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2024 could influence their decision on whether to undergo roster changes.
"I think they'll first focus on preparing for the “Masters,” and only after that will they make any decisions," Khalilov said. "If VP secures a decent position in the tournament, they might be disappointed about not making it to The International 2024, but they could console themselves with a strong showing in Saudi Arabia."
Khalilov emphasized that the team will give their best effort. "If their hard work pays off with a good result at the Riyadh Masters 2024, they might think, 'Maybe not everything is lost,' " he pointed out. "For them, finishing in 3rd or 4th place would be a good outcome at the 'Masters.' But I'm not sure if they can achieve that."
On June 16, Virtus.pro's journey to secure a slot at TI13 ended. They were defeated by the L1GA Team with a score of 0:2, finishing 7th-8th in the regional closed qualifiers.
The European club will participate in the play-in stage of the Riyadh Masters 2024. Virtus.pro earned their spot based on the qualifying results. Details about their first match in the championship, scheduled to start on July 4 in Saudi Arabia, will be announced closer to the event.
