Davai Lama after the win over the Falcons

Off-laner for Heroic, Cedric "Davai Lama" Dekmin, commented on their victory over Team Falcons in the grand final of PGL Wallachia 2024 Season 2 for Dota 2. He shared his thoughts in an interview during the Russian-language broadcast of the competition.

He acknowledged that they had made history by winning a tier-1 tournament, noting that while not all top teams participated, they managed to defeat Tundra, which includes a TI champion, and overcame Team Falcons, the best team of the past season. He recalled a comment made by ATF in the lobby chat before the match, stating, “You think you are good, but you are not.” Davai Lama added, perhaps ATF himself isn’t that good.

Davai Lama also highlighted that the lengthy matches in the decisive series were due to the playstyles of the finalist teams. 

He explained that Falcons prefer to play in a drawn-out manner, as they enjoy long games and do not focus on speeding up the tempo. In contrast, teams like Liquid and Gladiators aim to finish games within 20 minutes. He stated that Falcons seek to build an advantage gradually, but he believed they were the only team at the tournament capable of competing with Falcons in team fights and accumulating leads. He expressed confidence that there are other strategies to defeat them, but they simply played better and secured the win.

Dekmin also mentioned his plans for spending the prize money earned in the tournament. 

He stated that he would deposit the funds into his savings account and, in a few years, might consider using it for significant purchases. He explained that for now, he would refrain from spending it recklessly and might think about buying a house in about five years, depending on how his finances develop.

PGL Wallachia 2024 Season 2 took place from October 4 to 13 in Bucharest, Romania, with 16 teams competing for a prize pool of one million dollars. In the final, Heroic defeated Team Falcons with a score of 3-1, earning $300,000.
