Dota 2 exceeded 900 thousand online players after the release of “Crownfall”

After the release of the "Crownfall" update, the peak concurrent player count in Dota 2 surged by nearly 30% compared to March, as reported by the analytical service SteamDB.

On April 21st, Dota 2 boasted an online player count of 928,000 individuals. The last time Dota reached such heights was in November 2022 when Valve distributed Battle Passes and arcanas for free to players who completed over 10 matches since the release of the Battle Pass.

The "Crownfall" update was released on April 19th, introducing an in-game event where players can earn cosmetic items and double-down tokens.

Similar to past updates that have left a lasting impression on the Dota 2 community, such as the introduction of Battle Passes or major gameplay overhauls, the "Crownfall" update has effectively revitalized interest in the game.

These updates often introduce new features, gameplay mechanics, or in-game events that captivate the player base and reignite interest in the game.

Previously, Gaimin Gladiators' carry player Anton "dyrachyo" Shkredov shared his thoughts on the patch. Rather than immediately diving into testing the new event, he awaited balance adjustments from the update.
