Dread Explains Why He Criticized Kiyotaka
Streamer Andrey "Dread" Golubev addressed the criticism he received for his comments about Gleb "kiyotaka" Zyryanov, the mid laner for 9Pandas in Dota 2. Despite the backlash, Dread remains confident in his perspective.
"Regarding the backlash I got over kiyotaka. I don’t understand, guys, in what world is this match made roulette—where you either make a frag or die—considered effective Dota play? I don’t get it. Plus, I wasn’t just talking theoretically; my views were based on the actual games I watched," commented Andrey "Dread" Golubev.
Golubev criticized Zyryanov’s performance during the qualifiers for The International 2024. He suggested that Zyryanov should be removed from the team due to mental issues affecting his play.
On June 18, 9Pandas lost 0-3 to 1win in the final of the qualifiers, leading to their missing out on The International 2024. This marks the team's second consecutive failure to qualify for a major tournament, as they also missed a spot at the Riyadh Masters 2024.
