Dota 2 streamer Andrey "Dread" Golubev discussed the weak points of Keeper of the Light. He believes that professional players often overestimate the hero.
"Professional teams have caught onto Keeper of the Light and started picking him in the mid lane. He holds up well in almost all matchups and can really set the pace. These two facts alone are enough to justify picking the hero. That's partly true. In an ideal world, tempo solves everything. But players are not perfect; everyone makes mistakes. The more important the match, the more mistakes are made, and the longer the game goes. And as a result, the hero performs worse. In the group stage or in matchmaking, the character will perform well, but in the most crucial games, KotL struggles." - Andrey "Dread" Golubev
At ESL One Birmingham 2024, the hero appeared in 18 matches with an overall win rate of 55%. At PGL Wallachia Season 1, the hero was picked seven times with a win rate of 57%.
