We're at the final stretch on the journey to the Esports World Cup. DreamLeague Season 23 kicks off on Monday, May 20th, and besides the usual million-dollar prize pool, teams will be vying for a sought-after spot in Riyadh.
Five Dota 2 teams—BetBoom, Liquid, Xtreme, Gaimin Gladiators, and Falcons—have already secured invitations to Saudi Arabia. That leaves three spots up for grabs this season. OG, Spirit, and Tundra are next in line to secure their qualifications, with HEROIC, Shopify Rebellion, and Aurora just outside the top eight for now.
DreamLeague Season 23 Dota 2 format and rewards
DreamLeague Season 23 wraps up the EPT season two calendar and determines the eight teams that will secure spots at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh later this year. DreamLeague features a two-stage setup with the 12 attending teams divided into two groups.
Each group competes in a best-of-two round-robin stage; the top two Dota 2 squads from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, the next two move to the lower bracket, and the final two are eliminated. The remaining eight teams then engage in a double-elimination bracket leading to the grand final, which is a best-of-five.
