Epic Showdown at BLAST Slam I: Server Crash and Six-Hour Match

The match between Team Falcons and OG in the BLAST Slam I playoffs has become one of the tournament's most talked-about moments. A server crash during the decisive third game stretched the series to six unprecedented hours.

Initially, the deciding game lasted over 80 minutes and was interrupted by a server crash at the 81st minute. At that point, Team Falcons were ahead in net worth but trailing in kills. After a one-hour pause, organisers restarted the game with the same drafts. Following the restart, Team Falcons secured the series with a 2–1 victory, earning a place in the next playoff stage.

Two-time The International champion, Johan "N0tail" Sundstein, commented on the unusual situation on his X account:

"This is madness... I can only recall one series with such a long pause — it happened at Dota Pit about seven years ago."

Despite the dramatic loss, OG player Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon reflected on his team’s struggles in a post-match interview:

"Our main issue is team coordination. We still haven’t found a clear direction to follow. I’m used to playing long games, as I come from Southeast Asia, where such matches are common. It doesn’t matter which hero I play, as long as we reach the late game. If we work together, we can beat any team."

BLAST Slam I runs from 26 November to 1 December in Copenhagen, Denmark, featuring ten of the world’s top teams competing for a $1 million prize pool. The series between Team Falcons and OG exemplifies the unpredictability and intensity of the Dota 2 professional scene, where every mistake — and even technical issues — can shape the outcome.
