New Hero: Frog Bard and Arcana for Windranger

Data miners have uncovered potential evidence pointing to the upcoming introduction of a new hero, Frog Bard, in Dota 2.

The Telegram channel "Dota Stepana" reported that Valve has reserved IDs ranging from 822 to 827, likely for this new character. 

"Prior to the update, the last used ID for cosmetic slots was 821 (Belt of Keza). With the introduction of the Frostivus 2024 event, a slot for Windranger's base hero with ID 828 emerged. This suggests that the intermediate IDs may be set aside for Frog Bard," the message states. 

While Valve has yet to confirm this, Frog Bard has been mentioned previously as a potential new hero, with a release anticipated in early to mid-2025.

Windranger Arcana: Fluttering Breeze

Valve has launched a new arcana called Fluttering Breeze for Windranger as part of the Winter 2024 Hero Hoard set. However, the drop rate for this arcana is less than 1%, making it quite costly to acquire.

Players have calculated that to achieve a 50% chance of receiving the arcana, one would need to open 43 treasures. The initial drop rate is only 0.001%, and even after 10 attempts, the probability only rises to 0.8%. After 50 openings, the chance increases to 65.4%, yet it still does not guarantee a successful drop.

In practice, obtaining Fluttering Breeze could cost around $130. An alternative option is to wait for its potential sale in the summer of 2025, though even then, it might retail for around $100.

Additionally, with the launch of the Frostbite event, players received some bugs in the spirit of the New Year. Last night, Valve rolled out a minor update to fix an issue related to the use of abilities and items during teleportation.
