First Matches of Riyadh Masters 2024 Delayed Due to Server Issues
The drafts for the first matches of the event started 80 minutes late.
Original news: The organizers of Riyadh Masters 2024 in Dota 2 were unable to start the play-in championship on time due to technical problems with the server in Dubai.
The first day of the tournament was scheduled for 12:00 MSK on July 4. However, at the
time of publication, the matches had not started — instead, official streams featured musical pauses and analyst commentary.
Community reaction to Riyadh Masters 2024 issues:
"Couldn't start without delays — something with the servers," commented Rustam "Adekvat" Mavlyutov.
"Games are delayed. Testing the 'Dubai' server and so far things are not going well," said commentator and host Alexey "BafiK" Bafadarov.
"As per ancient tradition, a Dota tournament starts with a delay," commented Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov.
Virtus.pro, LGD Gaming, Azure Ray, and several other teams will compete for eight slots in the event's group stage.
Riyadh Masters 2024 runs from July 4 to 21 in Saudi Arabia, with a prize pool of $5 million.
