Global Esports Federation Announces Peru as Global Esports Games 2025 Host

The Global Esports Federation (GEF) has announced that its flagship event, the Global Esports Games, will be hosted in Lima, Peru in 2025.

The deal marks the beginning of a multi-year partnership between the city and the GEF. The partnership was formalized by GEF CEO, Paul J. Foster, and Asociación Deportiva Peruana de Esports (ADPES) President, Diego Mohme, in the city of Lima. Many other representatives from Lima appeared at the ceremony, including Matsuda Matayoshi, the Executive President of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).

 Multi-Year Partnership and Upcoming Events

As part of the deal, Lima is confirmed to organize the annual stages of GEF’s pro-series — the Global Esports Tour (GET) — from 2024 through 2028. The very first GET that will take place in Peru is scheduled for November, where teams from around the world will compete in Dota 2. The last Global Esports Games was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in December 2023.

 GEF's Vision and Partnerships

The GEF was founded in 2019 and has since sought to create global partnerships and work with Member Federations. In June 2022, the GEF signed a 10-year partnership with the West Midlands, an administrative district in the UK, intending to make the region a «global esports hub» The organization aims to continue striking these partnerships to expand its footprint around the world.
