God Discussed How Virtus.pro Handles Criticism

Virtus.pro's Dota 2 coach Sergey "God" Bragin explained how the team handles hate. The coach doesn't read social media and recommends this to the players.

"Everyone wishes only for development, so any criticism aims to help us improve. It's not about self-affirmation. We will affirm ourselves through results. We see progress happening. Everything else is weaknesses we try to fight. We need to say more hurtful things to each other," God stated.

"How do I handle hate, there's an observation. If every person who wanted to write a negative comment instead planted a tree, we would leave a green planet for our descendants. I sincerely hope that people who go with me share my opinion — for an athlete, there is progress and results. These are the only measures sufficient to assess the situation and prospects.

Negative comments can lead to unnecessary reflection, and positive ones can make you overconfident and let things slide. Ideally, I would recommend everyone prone to such doubts to limit their social media use. I worked with people who were okay with it, but for myself, I chose not to read comments," God expressed.

Virtus.pro faced massive criticism after failing to qualify for The International 2024. The team was eliminated early despite being the main favorite. After that, the team failed at the 1win Series Dota 2, finishing 5th-6th and missing the prize distribution.

Virtus.pro's next tournament will be Riyadh Masters 2024, held from July 4 to 21 in Saudi Arabia. The team will start from the play-in stage, competing for $5 million. The event will be commented on by the FUSSIRE studio, which secured rights until 2026.
