"Hand of Midas is an abomination" in the new character's trailer

Dota 2 developers poked fun at the item Hand of Midas in the trailer for the new hero Kez. The reference to the artifact can be seen at the 45-second mark of the video when the character's name is introduced.

In the lower-left corner of the frame, Valve included the text "Hand of Midas — abomination." This comes after a series of critical bugs related to the item that emerged between August and September 2024. Gamers repeatedly discovered new vulnerabilities as developers fixed one issue after another.

The trailer for Kez was shown during the final day of The International 2024. Kez will be the 126th hero in Dota 2. The previous hero, the Ringmaster, was released on the night of 23 August 2024. According to the trailer, Kez is set to be released with the launch of the fourth act of "The Fallen Crown."
