How Kiyotaki's game affects BetBoom

At the ESL One Bangkok 2024 championship, attention was drawn not only to the results of the matches, but also to numerous comments and discussions regarding the players and playstyle of BetBoom Team.

The carry of the Eastern European team BetBoom Team, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko, spoke about how the team’s gameplay changes with the inclusion of Danil "gpk" Skutin and Gleb "kiyotaka" Zyryanov. "The playstyle will differ in some ways, but if you still have four players on the team, the gameplay won’t change too drastically or globally. There are some changes," noted Ivan.

At the same time, Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov, commenting on Gleb "Kiyotaka" Zyryanov's playstyle, highlighted his productivity issues on the mid- lane. He pointed out that while an aggressive playstyle can be effective, as demonstrated by Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov from Gladiators, Kiyotaka’s style is too unstable and sometimes even harmful to the team.

"He plays really well, everything is fine — and then, for some reason, he overextends and dies, giving the enemy 1k, 2k, or even 3k gold — why? There’s no pressure, no strategy behind it,"

said Maelstorm. He added that if Gleb doesn’t make changes to his gameplay, he may lose his spot on the roster.

Nevertheless, Maelstorm acknowledged that BetBoom Team often wins fights when Kiyotaka focuses on blocking and praised other team members, such as Vitaliy "Save-" Melnyk and Matvey "Miero" Vasyunin, for their effective contributions.

Amid these discussions, Gleb "Kiyotaka" Zyryanov also changed his nickname for the tournament, opting for "hatehatehate" instead of his previous one, "666". However, this did not stop BetBoom Team from securing a 2-0 victory over Gaozu, finishing the group stage in first place in Group B with three wins and two draws. Their first playoff match will be against Team Falcons.

Thus, ESL One Bangkok 2024 continues to be a stage not only for exciting games but also for lively discussions surrounding playstyle, team dynamics, and roster changes.
