Iceberg explains Team Spirit’s failure at Riyadh Masters 2024

Professional player and streamer Bogdan "Iceberg" Vasylenko discussed Team Spirit's failure at the Riyadh Masters 2024 Dota 2 tournament, attributing it to a lack of adaptation and understanding of the meta.

"It's a shame that Spirit couldn’t adapt and fit into the meta. They didn’t lose because of individual skills. They weren’t outplayed, they were just wiped out twice in 20 minutes. No chance. Spirit didn’t understand the meta well enough. The players didn’t know what items to buy, but it happened. Adaptation is a championship skill. You don’t always come to a tournament with the idea that will help you win, but you can adapt," Bogdan "Iceberg" Vasylenko expressed.

Team Spirit lost to PSG Quest 1-2. The team couldn’t defend their championship title and left the tournament, finishing in 7th-8th place and earning $200,000. Their next event is the Super Dimensional Vision Snow Ruyi, taking place from July 28 to August 4 in China.

The Riyadh Masters 2024 took place from July 4 to 21 in Saudi Arabia. Participants competed for $5 million. The winners were Gaimin Gladiators, who earned $1.5 million.
