LGD Gaming Finalizes Lineup for Group Stage of Riyadh Masters 2024

With today's conclusion of the decider matches, the final eight teams advancing to the group stage have been determined, to complete the lineup. The Play-in Stage at Riyadh Masters has ended, and it's safe to say our predictions missed the mark. South America showed up strong, with both teams advancing to the group stage, while China fell short, with LGD being the sole Chinese team to make it through.

It wasn’t just China and South America that brought surprises; Southeast Asia also came in strong. Given their competitive history leading up to this event, Blacklist Rivalry was considered a dark horse in Group A.

In Group B, Mouz entered on their (dark) horse, having just qualified for the Elite League LAN in Peru last week. They secured a 2:0 sweep over Virtus.pro in the decider matches on the final day of the Play-in Stage, with Stefan "Ulnit" Gavrila demonstrating his prowess, garnering attention for post-TI roster changes.

In a 90+ minute Game 2, featuring an incredible performance by Xiong "Pyw" Jiahan on Weaver, LGD secured the final spot with a 2:0 sweep over nouns.

The group stage action continues on Wednesday, July 10th, at 14:30 CEST.
