Ukrainian esports player Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk recently expressed his frustrations with the quality of matchmaking in Dota 2 on his personal Telegram channel.
In his regular "matchmaking" segment, he highlighted the challenge of playing in games with large rating disparities. For context, the ring master and PA have ranks above 5k, so their ranks are not even displayed.
He noted that the highest rating in the game is 13,500, while the lowest is around 8,000. He criticised the matchmaking system for having casual differences of around 6k between players in a single match.
Lil compared this to a scenario where someone with a 1k rating would be matched against players with a 7k rating, questioning if they would be able to represent themselves adequately.
Additionally, he mentioned that a player known as "Sexadota" chose to play on a 1k fake account on Doom, suggesting that Valve's smurfing rules do not apply to them, and faced appropriate consequences.
Earlier, Lil also shared his thoughts on Nature's Prophet talents during a personal Twitch stream.
