Miposhka commented on Team Spirit's exit from ESL One Birmingham 2024

Team Spirit's captain, Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidyonov, summed up the team's performance at ESL One Birmingham 2024 for Dota 2. In his opinion, the lineup started the tournament well but stumbled on the final day.

"We're disappointed. It's a terrible result for us. We didn't expect this, we weren't counting on it. Before the tournament, we were doing pretty well playing in scrims and had a good win rate. The ideas we came to the tournament with worked out somewhere, but not always. We played solidly, but specifically on the last day, it all slipped away, as if we started on the wrong foot. Coordination, assessing situations, understanding, discipline, communication... We fell short on all fronts as a team.

All of this resulted in a terrible outcome — we lost four out of five maps. We barely won the only map against OG and it was full of mistakes, we just got lucky. I can't say we played exceptionally well. In the initial matches, we performed much better, but today wasn't our day. Right now, the team doesn't have a concrete plan for what we'll do next. Some are planning to go to London to take a break. Some are planning to go home, relax, and recharge. We'll prepare for the next tournaments." - Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidyonov

Team Spirit failed to advance from the group stage at ESL One Birmingham 2024. In the main stage, the team drew five times and then lost three consecutive matches in the playoffs. For their performance, Naidyonov's team earned $30,000.

The next tournament for Spirit will be PGL Wallachia Season 1, which will take place from May 10th to 19th in Romania. The prize pool will amount to one million dollars. At the time of publication, this is the last championship on Spirit's schedule, as they failed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 23.
