NS about the requirement to set a delay on the community cast

Community caster Yaroslav 'NS' Kuznetsov recently criticised a specific requirement imposed by tournament organisers, which he believes is harming community broadcasts. He explained that the new rule mandating a delay on live streams is particularly damaging. While delays of up to 15 minutes on Dota TV, without additional features like banners, are manageable, requiring a delay directly on the live stream itself is a severe blow to community casting.

Kuznetsov noted that, as a result, he and Alexander 'Nix' Levin have nearly stopped streaming tournaments for which they do not hold the rights. The stringent delay rules make these tournaments exceedingly difficult to cover effectively.

In the first season of the Elite League, all streamers, except those broadcasting in Russian, were required to implement a 10-minute delay.

Earlier, Muriel 'Kips' Heusman from the Netherlands had called for English-speaking community casters to boycott Elite League Season 2 due to the lack of official coverage in that language.
