NS: "Dota has been dying for the past 20 years..."

Analyst Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov stated that Valve is not dedicating enough time to the development of Dota 2. According to him, this could ultimately lead to the game's decline.

"What the developers are doing for Dota is laughable. It's both funny and sad, too little. The game isn't receiving adequate support from the developers. That's just a fact. If things continue like this, Dota will be on its deathbed in ten years. It's been dying and dying for the past two decades. I think Valve will get what they want, and the game will die." - Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov

In Kuznetsov's opinion, as gamers age, they develop other interests in life. No one wants to deal with slow games in Dota.

"Of course, the process of branching out in different directions without an influx of new people takes years. But this process is inevitable, given Valve's approach.

Over time, people will transition to other places, and new gamers won't come in. Other places could be other games or real life. People gradually mature, they just don't have time for a game where matches last 60 minutes.

People work and study, they don't have time for it. They choose simpler entertainment, if we're talking about PC. Or they stop being interested in computers altogether because of other things. People are gradually leaving, and new gamers aren't appearing out of thin air. To make that happen, you need to somehow promote the game, and take care of it. You need to attract new people somewhere." - Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov

This isn't NS's first criticism of Dota 2. Earlier, he stated that the game doesn't bring him joy. The reason is the lengthy matchmaking matches.
