Analyst Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov explained the reason behind Matvey "MieRo" Vasyunin's poor performance when he initially joined the BetBoom Team's Dota 2 roster. According to Kuznetsov, the player was anxious, and the coach gave him an overly challenging task.
"MieRo was nervous during his first tournaments. It was evident he wasn't ready for the responsibility. He was pulled from public matches, had a high rank, and played well," NS explained.
"It was clear he wasn't ready to bear a lot of weight in the game, and he played worse when things didn't go well. He needed simpler heroes. They picked Mars with Io for the decisive map... MieRo did nothing and played very poorly because all the responsibility was on him. He was tasked with winning the game, which was too much for someone who was lost and out of his element. This was a failure on the part of the captain and the coach," NS criticized.
"After that, he was labeled a ruiner. MieRo plays well, he's great. When he replaced Pure~ in BetBoom Team, it seemed like the team played better. It became a more balanced squad," NS concluded.
Earlier, Vasyunin assessed BetBoom Team's preparation for Riyadh Masters 2024. He believes the team is well-prepared for the tournament.
