Analyst Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov humorously commented on Andrey "Dread" Golubev's potential return to the professional Dota 2 scene. According to Kuznetsov, Golubev thrives on competition and could easily step back into the pro gaming arena.
"Just give Andrey a chance and a reason, and he'll dive right back into the pro scene. I can sense it. He has this kind of story. His mindset... I don't quite understand it. Andrey needs competition in everything," NS said.
Kuznetsov illustrated this by recounting a post-show barbecue after PGL Wallachia Season 1, where Golubev's competitive spirit came to light. "We're grilling kebabs after the PGL Wallachia Season 1 show," Kuznetsov shared. "Andrey says, 'Okay, who's going to compete with me in grilling kebabs? Who can do it better?' There were no cameras, the stream was off. People were just sitting around chatting, and he started a kebab grilling competition. He needs some form of competition in everything. It's as if he can't enjoy himself without it."
"In contrast, I enjoy everything just for what it is. The fact of competing means there's a chance of losing, which could lead to negative emotions. It's complete nonsense. If there's no competition, you can't lose," Kuznetsov explained, "I think Dread just needs a little push, and he'd be back to playing professionally again."
Previously, Golubev joked about overweight esports players, suggesting that such players tend to be more successful than those with different physiques.
Dread played professionally from 2006 to 2015. One of Golubev's notable achievements was securing 5th-6th place at The International 2011. After retiring, he became a caster and streamer.
