Online Dota 2 has been falling for four months in a row

According to Steam Charts, the average online player count for Dota 2 decreased by over five percent in September 2024 compared to the previous month, falling below the 430,000 mark once again.

The peak online count also dropped, from 734,000 to 726,000 players. It's worth noting that the highest peak for players in Dota 2 history was recorded in March 2016, reaching nearly 1.3 million.

In September, the developers of Dota 2 officially introduced a new hero, Kez. This character will be available in the game with the release of Act Four of "The Fallen Crown."
