Dota 2: Kez Win Rate Drops as Players Vent Frustration Over Dota Plus Issues

The Dota 2 community is grappling with two pressing concerns following the latest update: a significant drop in the effectiveness of hero Kez and issues with the Dota Plus subscription service, sparking widespread criticism of Valve.

Kez Win Rate Decline

Since the patch released on 4 December, Kez’s win rate in matchmaking has fallen from 51.03% to 47.71%, marking a decrease of over three percent. This drop is attributed to the nerfing of the hero’s abilities as well as changes to their HUD.

Valve’s developers not only weakened the hero but also addressed several bugs related to a new character. However, for many players, the changes to Kez were a harsh blow, especially for those who had relied on the hero’s strength in the previous meta.

Dota Plus Subscription Problems

Another hot topic has been the conclusion of the Dota Plus Autumn Season in the Eastern regions without the launch of the Winter Season. As it stands, the subscription page is empty, leaving players without access to seasonal quests or the additional features included in the service.

Reddit users have voiced their dissatisfaction, posting screenshots and fuelling discussions. Many have pointed out that Valve not only failed to launch the Winter Season but also neglected to extend the Autumn Season, temporarily denying subscribers access to paid content.

"We’re paying for a service we can’t even use. How is this acceptable?" wrote one frustrated subscriber.

Community Reaction

Criticism of Valve continues to mount, as players argue that such issues are unacceptable for a premium subscription service. The Dota Plus problems have compounded frustrations over the balance changes to Kez, further heating the debate within the community.

The latest Dota 2 update has sparked mixed reactions: the nerfing of Kez has significantly impacted the hero’s viability, while technical issues with Dota Plus have left subscribers unable to access the anticipated Winter Season. The community eagerly awaits swift action from Valve to resolve these issues and prevent similar missteps in the future.
