PARIVISION at ESL One Bangkok 2024: Victory and Coaching Style
The team PARIVISION, led by coach Filipe "Astini" Astini, is performing confidently at ESL One Bangkok 2024, securing a spot in the playoffs. During the group stage, they defeated Gaozu, finishing the first day with a 3-1 record, placing them at the top of Group B. In their remaining matches, the team will face Nigma Galaxy, while their rivals from BetBoom Team will compete against Ame's squad.
Astini’s Unified Coaching Style
Coach Astini shared insights into his approach, emphasising that his coaching style remains consistent regardless of the roster or region:
"I always coach the same way. Changing my style wouldn’t feel like me. However, I do take into account each player’s opinion and add my own as the sixth perspective."
He noted that the team communicates in English during drafts, though Russian-speaking players such as No[o]ne, Dukalis, and 9Class occasionally use Russian during games.
Strategic and Macro Play Approach
Astini also discussed how he sets the team’s strategic priorities:
"My role is to determine how we approach macro play—what objectives to focus on, how to control portals, group around runes, or secure an early Roshan. This helps players understand which objectives take precedence and where they need to gather. Playing reactively, just chasing movements on the map, always puts you behind."
The coach highlighted the importance of correct drafting decisions, particularly when it comes to heroes like Monkey King:
"Invoker is a decent choice against Monkey King, but doesn’t fully counter him. If you fail to ban hard counters like Batrider or Beastmaster, Monkey King ends up in a tough spot, sometimes relegated to being a support. Picking him as a support from the start isn’t ideal, either."
Confidence Ahead of the Playoffs
PARIVISION has already demonstrated their strength as a formidable contender. Their strong group-stage performance and the cohesion of players under Astini’s guidance give hope for success in the playoffs.
The ESL One Bangkok 2024 tournament is running from 9th to 15th December in Thailand, featuring 12 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool and valuable ESL Pro Tour points.
