Parker is not on the team, his former teammates are happy

The South American HEROIC Dota 2 team has recently been under the spotlight due to internal conflicts leading to significant roster changes. Cedric "Davai Lama" Deckmyn, an off-lane player from Belgium, addressed the situation on his X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing his gratitude towards his teammates and the organisation, while also looking forward to competing in the upcoming BLAST tournament alongside Yuma. “We gave our best despite the circumstances, and I’m excited to begin a new chapter for HEROIC,” he stated.

This development follows the removal of Peruvian carry player David "Parker" Nicho Flores, a move that has sparked heated discussions within the Dota 2 community. Opinions vary widely, with players, analysts, and coaches sharing their perspectives.

Belarusian player Kirill "Sunlight" Kachinsky and Team Liquid’s coach William "Blitz" Lee weighed in, both pointing to Parker’s immense talent but citing his reputation for being a challenging teammate. Sunlight described Parker as a "brilliant yet volatile" player, whose emotional instability has often hindered his progress in competitive play. Blitz remarked that while Parker’s raw skill is undeniable, persistent behavioural issues could jeopardise his future prospects in professional Dota 2.

Meanwhile, Khaled "sQreen" El-Habbash, a respected analyst, defended Parker, arguing that HEROIC failed to capitalise on their star player’s strengths. He criticised the team’s drafting strategies and lack of cohesion, calling the situation a "missed opportunity."

The changes come in the wake of HEROIC’s fluctuating performance. After a standout victory at PGL Wallachia Season 2, their lacklustre showing at DreamLeague highlighted internal struggles. Parker’s removal signals the organisation’s decision to prioritise team dynamics over individual prowess.

As the dust settles, HEROIC now aims to rebuild their roster with a fresh approach, starting with the inclusion of Yuma. Whether this gamble will pay off remains to be seen as the team prepares for future competitions.
