Quinn explains why he doesn't see a problem with prize pool reduction

Quinn Callahan, the mid-laner for Gaimin Gladiators, discussed his perspective on the reduced prize pool of the last two Internationals in an interview during Jean "Gorgc" Stefanski's stream. He stated that he does not view the decrease as critical to the tournament's interest.

He pointed out that the astronomical prize pools of TI10 and TI11 created immense pressure, with each match potentially worth millions of dollars. While those were significant sums, particularly if living costs in one's country are not high, the current situation is different but acceptable. Quinn noted that a lower prize pool does not necessarily diminish the tournament's significance. He acknowledged that a larger prize pool made the event seem more important and was interesting to watch as it grew, but the current level is still fine.

Quinn emphasised that the viewership numbers and the quality of games are still impressive. The high level of engagement and enjoyment from watching the matches remains intact. He also mentioned that top players in Dota 2 have already earned substantial amounts, so a smaller prize pool is not a major issue.

On 4 September, Quinn and his team, Gaimin Gladiators, began their campaign at The International 2024. They have advanced to the upper bracket semi-finals and will face Tundra Esports in their next match on 13 September.
