Tundra Esports stand-in Roman "RAMZES" Kushnarev discussed his adaptation to the Dota 2 roster. The team did not have enough time to train adequately before the start of DreamLeague Season 23.
"Maybe we haven't played enough matches together. We're still trying to understand how we want to play and which heroes to pick. I'm not an English-speaking player, but we communicate in English. We're just trying to show our best form."
Do you relax or feel pressured in your stand-in role?
"I think there's some pressure on me because I haven't played tier-1 tournaments against the best teams in the world for a long time. Plus, I've changed my position. It's quite difficult for me in some games because I don't always know what to do on the map. We'll see how it goes."
"Everyone is waiting for the patch. Maybe once it drops, I'll become the best offlaner. The current update has been used for two years. During this time, all the 'threes' learned to play offlane, except me, because I was always a carry. But it's fun. I enjoy playing with the guys." - Roman "RAMZES" Kushnarev
On May 14, RAMZES became a stand-in for Tundra, replacing Tobias "Tobi" Buchner. For now, Kushnarev will assist the team only during DreamLeague Season 23. His future with the team likely depends on their performance in the tournament.
Tundra currently holds a 4-2 record and is positioned at the top of the leaderboard. The team will next face the BetBoom Team. The match starts at 8:45 PM MSK on May 21. To advance to the next stage, teams need to finish in the top 4 of their group.
