Regional Qualifiers Conclude: ESL One Bangkok 2024

The closed qualifiers for the ESL One Bangkok 2024 championship have concluded on the global Dota 2 stage. The tournament will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 9th to 15th December, featuring 12 teams competing for a $1 million prize pool.  

Qualification Format and Participants 

Western Europe was the only region to receive two slots for the tournament, reflecting its status as a leading region on the global scene. In the other six regions — China, North America, South America, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and MESWA — one slot was contested. Additionally, four teams were directly invited by the organisers.

Regional Qualifier Highlights 

Western Europe: Team Liquid and AVULUS emerged victorious in the qualifiers. Reigning The International champions Team Liquid claimed the first slot with an unbeaten run. AVULUS secured the second slot after narrowly defeating OG in the lower bracket finals.  

Eastern Europe: PuckChamp dominated the finals against 1win with a 3-0 scoreline, having fought through the lower bracket, defeating NAVI Junior and L1GA TEAM.  

China: Gaozu, featuring veterans Ame, Paparazi灬, and XinQ, claimed the Chinese slot by defeating Xtreme Gaming in the grand finals.  

Southeast Asia: BOOM Esports will serve as the home team, securing their slot with a stunning comeback against Aurora Gaming. Trailing 0-2, they rallied to win the series 3-2.  

North America: Shopify Rebellion confidently outclassed their regional rivals Atlantic City in the finals with a dominant 3-0 victory, showcasing exceptional form.  

South America: beastcoast overcame HEROIC in a nail-biting 3-2 final, reversing a 1-2 deficit to secure their place at the tournament.  

MESWA: Nigma Galaxy faced little resistance in their qualifiers, dropping only one game in the final against Winter Bear.  

Tournament Format 

The group stage of ESL One Bangkok 2024 will take place 9th-11th December behind closed doors. The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs, held 13th-15th December in front of a live audience at the Royal Paragon Hall. The world’s best teams will compete for glory and a share of the substantial prize pool.
