Santa on Tundra: "There's a Considerable Chance of Tilt"

Analyst Alexander "Santa" Koltan discussed the current form of Tundra Esports. He believes that the players might be disheartened after their loss to Entity in the qualifiers for The International 2024 in Dota 2.

"A few words about Tundra. Rumor has it that Pure lost the first and third maps solo yesterday. It's funny how the same whispers were silent when he was winning games solo. Ivan is not a robot, not an AI, and not even a Buddhist monk to handle such a level of pressure. He tries to draft, captain, call shots, farm for three, start fights, and finish games all by himself. Besides all that, he bears increased responsibility towards the organization, the team, and the fans.

In the short term, this might work (as we saw in the upper bracket), but in the long run, unfortunately, it doesn't. Plus, the team's playstyle of having three greedy cores just doesn't work in the current Dota. This can only work if the opponent makes a lot of mistakes, loses 2/3 of the lanes, or plays too passively. But against strong opponents, what happened yesterday on the third map is likely to occur. Dota is too aggressive now; you can't afford to play so greedily, or you'll just get crushed. PSG Quest showed that they can punish such play, as evidenced by their third game against Nigma, which they finished in 20 minutes. After yesterday, there's a considerable chance of tilt. The guys on the team are quite passionate," Santa expressed.

Tundra failed to qualify for The International 2024 on their first attempt. In the upper bracket final, they lost to Entity. Now they will have to play for the last slot against the winner of the NAVI Junior vs. PSG Quest match.
