According to the press release, Sony has become a key partner of the global tournament in Saudi Arabia. Sony Music will compose the anthem for the championship's kickoff in June, while Sony Pictures plans to produce a documentary series about the tournament, esports athletes, and specific games.
The Esports World Cup will take place for the first time this summer in Riyadh and will become an annual multi-sport tournament. The organizers aim to create an equivalent of the Olympics in esports, promising the largest prize pool in history. Competitions will feature a minimum of 10 games, including Dota 2, Counter-Strike, Fortnite, StarCraft II, and others.
