Steam Servers Crash Mid-Match at PGL Wallachia

A significant incident occurred during the PGL Wallachia Season 1 Dota 2 tournament. The match between G2.iG and Aurora Gaming was interrupted at the 64-minute mark due to a crash of the Steam servers. At the time of the interruption, Aurora was leading with a 50k gold advantage and had achieved megacreeps.

All players and observers were disconnected from the game and were unable to reconnect. According to PGL rules, if a match crashes after the first kill, it is replayed with new picks. However, the final decision always rests with the head administrator.

After some time, PGL representatives were able to load a backup and resume the match. Following the reboot, the duration of Black King Bar was reset for all players.

Commentator Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov believes that it is impossible to make a fair decision in such a situation, as both teams will argue for their own interests.

"I understand your frustration, but believe me, I've seen technical losses in similar situations. Of course, the loss will be assigned to G2.iG. But making such a decision is very difficult, especially considering the non-zero probability of a comeback. Unfortunately, there is no fair solution here, as Aurora had a colossal advantage." - Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov

The match between G2.iG and Aurora Gaming is part of the lower bracket of PGL Wallachia Season 1. The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament. At the time of the crash, the series score was 1-0 in favor of G2.iG.
