Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov, the head of the Dota 2 division at Virtus.pro, addressed the team's disappointing performance in the qualifiers for The International 2024. He apologized to the fans for the team's unsuccessful showing.
"We lost the qualification for TI. I feel ashamed and hurt by such a result," expressed StrangeR. "I sincerely want to apologize to everyone who believed in us and supported us during this tournament and throughout the season."
StrangeR added, "I’m not ready to comment on the quality of our gameplay right now; it’s something we need to process and reflect on. I will provide updates on the team’s future plans in due course."
Virtus.pro was defeated by L1GA Team in the lower bracket of the Eastern Europe qualifiers. This marks the first time the organization will miss The International since 2022. That year, they reached the Last Chance Qualifier, finishing in third place.
