Former Leviatan and OG player Tommy "Taiga" Le released a statement clarifying the situation regarding allegations of involvement in match-fixing in Dota 2. The former esports athlete admitted to leaking insider information to Alexander "Sensibility" Filatov but denied intentionally throwing matches.
"I've been waiting for an investigation, and I'm glad it's out. However, I didn't expect everything to be taken out of context. At that time, I was under immense pressure, but I wasn't Sensibility's accomplice. Rather, I was a broken person who was being used and pressured. Voice messages and chat logs are scattered everywhere to paint me in a bad light, get views, and portray Sensibility as a necessary evil.
The transactions mentioned in the video never happened, and I didn't benefit from them. It was never about money; it was just a tool to fuel addiction. The '322 Mafia' was never directly associated with me. Nevertheless, Sensibility likes to think of himself as cool. But I never threw games before or during my time at OG, and I never bet on us losing or giving away first blood.
But yes, I did leak information to Sensibility for his own bets because, at that time, I owed him, and streaming allowed him to do his thing and detach from me while I could focus on the game. Everything I did was a result of 'negotiations' with him because he wanted me to throw matches, which I never did and never will. That was the only way to get him to stop talking.
I don't know why I did it. Because of my gambling addiction and the shame of hiding it from my family and friends, my personality completely changed. According to my therapist, this is very common among people under intense stress and addiction. I wasn't thinking rationally anymore, so my anxiety and worries were easy to exploit. Honestly, I thought he was my new friend. That's why I shared my story and problems with him.
In any case, the reason the video was released was that I was seeking treatment for addiction and ignoring this person's threats for a year. At the time when everything surfaced, I didn't owe this person any money.
Morf got views and was forced to advertise Sensibility's social media in his video. Not to mention they twisted everything to make it look believable. No wonder they worked on the investigation for eight months.” - Tommy "Taiga" Le
Taiga also noted that he has no intention of returning to the Dota 2 pro scene. He is prepared for any punishment that Valve and tournament operators may impose. As of the publication of the news, no sanctions have been issued.
On April 5, 2024, Morf released an investigation about Taiga. In it, the blogger showed conversations between the esports athlete and Sensibility, who is known for organizing fixed matches. After this, Taiga was kicked out of Leviatan, and the player himself announced that he had ended his career. In early May, Nemiga Gaming manager Eduard "zverHDD" Ashurkevich reminded us that Taiga is still not banned by any tournament operator.
