Team Liquid at ESL One Bangkok 2024: Group Stage Battle

The teams Nigma Galaxy and Team Liquid ended in a draw during the group stage of ESL One Bangkok 2024, earning one point each. These results keep the intrigue alive in Group B, where in the final round, Team Liquid will face M80, and Nigma Galaxy will compete against PARIVISION.

Player Motivation on the Tier-1 Scene

Professional players Samuel "Boxi" Svahn from Team Liquid and Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen from Shopify Rebellion shared their thoughts on what keeps them going:

"If I stopped playing right now... I haven't left as big a mark as I’d like. My dream is to secure a few major LAN victories and solidify Team Liquid's status as the best team," Boxi admitted.
Cr1t- added: "What motivates me most is simply that I love playing this game. If it wasn’t fun, I wouldn’t do it. The day it stops being enjoyable, that will be the end."

The Coach’s Role in Team Success

Team Liquid’s coach Damien "kpii" Chok discussed his role within the team: "I focus on in-game matters — watching replays of both our team and opponents, and going through them with the players. It’s much better than grinding ranked games. I’m happy and thoroughly enjoying this experience."

Preparing for the Playoffs

The ESL One Bangkok 2024 tournament is running from 9 to 15 December in Thailand, featuring 12 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool and valuable ESL Pro Tour points. Despite the intense group stage battles, both Nigma Galaxy and Team Liquid are pushing forward, driven by their ambitions and the unwavering support of their coaches.
