Team Spirit Ends LGD’s Riyadh Masters 2024 Run

LGD Gaming became the third team to exit the competition on day two of the playoffs stage at the Riyadh Masters 2024.

After Aurora and Entity were eliminated earlier in the day, LGD attempted to change the narrative and deliver an upset. However, they were no match for Team Spirit, the defending champions.

Team Spirit was forced into a lower bracket run in Riyadh after losing the playoff quarterfinals to Team Liquid. Despite the rough series, Spirit learned from the experience and was ready to utilize one of the key heroes from Liquid’s drafts against LGD.

Team Spirit vs. LGD Gaming

Tiny is becoming one of the hottest heroes at Riyadh Masters. Liquid crushed Spirit with it, and moving forward, Denis "Larl" Sigitov played it back-to-back in the series against LGD and even had a bit of extra fun with it. Game one went past the 60-minute mark, introducing tier 5 neutral items.

Despite the late-game scenario against an Alchemist carry from LGD, Team Spirit controlled the map with over a 50K gold advantage. During the high-ground battle, Larl picked the Unwavering Condition neutral item that reduced Tiny’s power, making a strong statement.

Larl played Tiny again in game two, which haunted LGD as Team Spirit quickly recovered from a slow laning stage to dominate the Chinese team and eliminate them from the competition.

While LGD heads home, Team Spirit is mounting a lower-bracket comeback to defend their title and will return to the arena on Friday, July 19 to play against the winner of OG vs. PSG Quest.
