The first experience of lan was a success
In a vlog for their YouTube channel, 1win discussed patch 7.37, shared their emotions about their first LAN tournament, and summarised their team's performance at Elite League Season 2.
They unexpectedly encountered the patch. They were relaxing in the evening, thinking they would rest a bit before the playoffs to gather strength, when suddenly the game was updated. They mentioned that they didn't think much of it at first, but then realised it was patch 7.37.
They found the update interesting, particularly liking the changes to Roshan, who now provides both Aghanim's and Refresher when defeated by the Dire side. There were other significant changes, although one major one was forgotten.
Swedenstrong highlighted that they had identified a few interesting heroes from the patch. They pointed out that some overpowered elements, like Weaver, had been nerfed. They noted that the patch balanced out various aspects and inbuilt abilities, making them more equal and overall, it was considered a good patch.
Respect shared thoughts on playing on stage versus online. They said that external sounds were the main difference, causing some discomfort during drafts due to the large audience. Once the game began, they felt as if they were back in practice mode, detached from the external world. The headphones they used blocked out about 70-80% of the crowd noise, although the reactions from the crowd were still audible.
Ahilles reflected on the team's performance at Elite League Season 2, expressing mixed emotions. They felt a sense of bitter defeat but also pride in their teammates. Despite some players feeling unwell due to food poisoning, they continued to play and fight on. The team faced many challenges but showed resilience. Ahilles praised Team Liquid, acknowledging the intense and exciting final match, which ended 3:2. They planned to rest before preparing for The International, viewing the LAN as a valuable experience. Despite aiming for a win, they were content with second place and motivated to move forward.
1win was defeated by Sweden's Team Liquid in the grand final of Elite League Season 2 with a score of 2:3. The team finished in second place, earning $120,000 in prize money.
