Topson Explains Why Tundra Picked Such a Strange Draft on the Second Map Against PSG Quest
Tundra Esports mid-laner Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen gave an interview after qualifying for The International 2024 in Dota 2. The esports player explained why the team lost the second map to PSG Quest.
"On the second map, we were trying to adapt to our draft. We didn't have any stuns. Primal Beast was just running around us. There were many problems. But I think we could have laned better, which would have allowed us to slow the game down and wait for our timings.
We just couldn't utilize the strengths of my hero - Arc Warden. We needed to make better use of the first few ultimates to get some kills. Maybe take down Primal Beast a couple of times. Apparently, a draft with Terrorblade as support and Dark Seer off-lane is far from ideal," Topson said.
"We talked about what PSG Quest might pick. We were just gearing up for the next map. We knew it was hard to win after such laning. We tried not to overthink it and just play on. Our team is doing quite well. Everyone plays decently and is pretty relaxed. We have a good working atmosphere," Topson expressed.
Tundra Esports secured the last slot for The International 2024. In the losers' bracket match for the spot, the team defeated PSG Quest 2-1. The team's next event will be the Riyadh Masters 2024, taking place from July 19 to 30 in Saudi Arabia.
The Western Europe qualifiers for TI13 were held online from June 19 to 23. The second slot for the tournament went to Entity. The world championship itself will take place from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The prize pool for the tournament is yet to be announced.
