Valve has released a mini-update for Dota 2. Developers have removed the ability to see who a player would be matched with in a lobby before the match is accepted. Presumably, this is how the studio continues to combat Overplus.
Description of the update from March 28:
Lobbies with player matchmaking will no longer transmit information about participants' accounts until the lobby is accepted by all players.
Fixed some cases where Revenant's Brooch still allowed critical hits.
Added a model for the mage version of Divine Rapier.
Earlier, Valve fixed a vulnerability that allowed third-party programs to automatically ban heroes before the draft stage. You can read about it in our news.
The struggle between Valve and the developers of Overplus began in February 2024. Back then, the creators of Dota launched a new anti-cheat, which banned many offenders. Representatives of the illegal program stated that they would continue to improve it.
