VeRsuta Shares Tips on Reducing Lag and Stutter in Dota 2
Analyst and streamer Aren "VeRsuta" Zurabyan expressed frustration over the additional CPU load in Dota 2 caused by the "Fallen Crown" event. He recommended a console command to help resolve the lag issue.
How to Increase Performance in Dota 2
"Valve is responsible for the extra load on your CPU. If you don't disable the main menu animation in Dota, you'll notice a significant difference in CPU load. I have an Intel Core i5-11400F," said VeRsuta.
"You might wonder why the main menu consumes so much CPU. The answer lies in the event. If you visit the 'Fallen Crown' page, you’ll see that the animations are still running, which unnecessarily consume CPU resources," he added.
VeRsuta noted that turning off the main menu animation would improve performance during and after the game. He shared the console command `map_enable_background_maps 0` to disable the main menu animation.
"Valve is a company of fine gentlemen," VeRsuta remarked, highlighting the noticeable difference in CPU load with and without the main menu animation.
The "Fallen Crown" event started on April 19th, introducing Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit and Skywrath Mage. The second part of the storyline event, featuring 59 levels of various challenges, began on May 23rd. Players do not need to complete the first act to unlock the second.
