Xtreme Gaming support player Zhao "XinQ" Zixing reflected on the match against Team Spirit at The International 2024 in an interview on the official broadcast.
He noted that while it was a positive achievement for his team to advance to the top 8, the victory over Team Spirit didn’t evoke strong emotions since they believed their opponents were not in their best form.
According to XinQ, even after losing the first map, the team remained confident in their ability to win the series. He explained that although they made a few mistakes in the first game, they generally played well and knew they were stronger. The team just needed to continue doing what they had been doing.
The International 2024 is taking place from 4 to 15 September, with teams competing for a prize pool that is growing through compendium sales, currently standing at $2.4 million. Team Spirit, the defending champions from the previous TI, were unable to retain their title and exited the tournament in 9th-12th place following their defeat to Xtreme Gaming.
