Yatoro: I Think Playing on LAN Is Always Better Than Bootcamp

A professional player from Team Spirit, Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, shared his thoughts on the format of ESL One Birmingham 2024 and his team's mindset in a post-match interview.

"I think the tournament has a good format. We have plenty of time between games, they give us about half an hour. So yeah, it's good. What are our expectations? We're glad to have made it to the Birmingham championship and are ready to fight. I think playing on LAN is always better than bootcamping. Birmingham is a good place." - Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk

At the time of writing, Team Spirit holds the fourth place in Group B. Their next match will be against OG, scheduled for April 24 at 16:45 Moscow time.

Earlier, Team Spirit player Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov published a video message to the fans for the club's Telegram channel after the second day of play at ESL One Birmingham 2024.

In esports, LAN events involve players competing in a controlled, low-latency environment at a physical location, fostering direct interaction and team synergy. Conversely, bootcamps entail intensive training sessions held online, allowing for focused practice but lacking the pressure and immediacy of LAN competition. Players often prefer LAN play for its superior conditions and the adrenaline of live competition, as highlighted by Yatoro's sentiment.

All matches in the group stage are played in a best-of-2 format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, which will be held at Resorts World Arena.
